World Heritage Magnetic Island -
worth caring for...

COME ON! JOIN THE TEAM - BECOME A MEMBER OF MINCA!

MINCA members are the lifeblood of the organisation. While members have the opportunity to ‘get down and dirty’ at the regular weeding and regeneration activities, there are many other ways for members to be actively involved in the important and varied work of MINCA.

People willing to help with, for example, grant applications, development of submissions to government, promotion, event management, identifying opportunities, and administration are always very welcome!
Below: Just some of MINCA's 100+ members

Membership is by nomination of a MINCA member and acceptance by the Management Committee.
Annual membership fees are $20 (waged); $12 (unwaged).
A family membership of $30 is available for a couple living at one address and all of their children living at home and under the age of 18 years.
A lifetime membership ($200) is available to people who have been members of MINCA for at least five years.
PLEASE NOTE, membership fees are not tax deductible.

It's not all hard work with MINCA. Right, MINCA member Anne Cole (3rd from right) challenges local kids to a slow bicycle race – with the last person across the line without having put a foot down, being declared the winner.

The race was part of a field day held by MINCA to launch its 2010 short film competition, Carbon Cuts, and its Low Carbon Diet Inter-Bay Challenge, in which teams from the various Island bays competed to see by how much they could reduce their electricity use.
