Clear Water Townsville

Celebrating and defending Cleveland Bay, North Queensland.

PROTECTING OUR OCEAN

Join us in celebrating the beautiful clear water of the northern tropics and safeguarding it from unnecessary dredging and other activities that muddy our wonderful Cleveland Bay – an ecological hot spot which is fundamental to our unique lifestyle.

Clear Water Townsville is a collaboration between the North Queensland Conservation Council and the Magnetic Island Nature Care Association.

Let’s make one thing clear:
We’re not here to close the Port of Townsville, just to make sure that excessive, damaging and unnecessary growth doesn’t destroy the wonderful marine environment and leisure activities we are privileged to enjoy in the waters of the Great Barrier Reef World Heritage Area.

On this site, you can find out about the proposed port expansion project and the impacts it is likely to have. More information will be added as it becomes available, so do check back from time to time. And if you want to know something that we haven’t covered, let us know and we’ll do our best to do the research and enlighten you. You can also visit our Facebook page for all the latest news about the Port, our campaign and how you can help!
